All about the team.

Helmsman:

Jamie Dunross has a long history of involvement with the Paralympic games, winning Australia’s first and only team gold medal to date at the Paralympic level in Sydney 2000, crewing for Noel Robins. Following on a campaign in Athens 2004, Dunross helmed the Sonar team of Colin Harrison and Jeff Milligan, to come a credible 5th, being the best result out of both Olympic and Paralympic teams for Athens.  Jamie also holds the current world record for the first quadriplegic to sail around Australia solo and unassisted, a journey that started in Perth April 2010 and was completed in July of the same year. See the Solo One website http://www.solo1.com.au/  for information on this voyage. Jamie has now set his sights on returning to Paralympic competition in the SKUD class and winning GOLD for Australia.

Crew:

Rachael Cox won silver with Dan Fitzgibbon in the SKUD class at the 2008 Paralympic games. In 2009, Rachael continued to build her knowledge base by sailing 2.4’s on the international circuit, as well as competing at a state level with helm Jamie Dunross in the Sonar class winning both the WA state titles decisively, as well as the Cockburn sound regatta in their division. In 2010 Rachael and Dan continued to sail together in the SKUD, coming 3rd at the IFDS (International Federation Disabled Sailors) event in Holland, and 1st at the Sail for Gold event in Weymouth UK (the future Paralympic venue).  Rachael is well prepared to go on to improve on the last Paralympics, and return home with GOLD
